Chattanooga Comic Con Cosplay Policy

At Chattanooga Comic Con, we welcome and celebrate all forms of cosplay! To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these guidelines regarding costumes, weapons, and respectful behavior.

1. Appropriate Attire

A. All costumes must adhere to public decency laws. Costumes should cover enough to be worn in a family-friendly environment, as the convention is open to attendees of all ages.

B. Shoes must be worn at all times for safety.


2. Weapons Policy
C. Prop Weapons: All prop weapons must be inspected and peace-bonded at designated safety checkpoints. No metal weapons, functional firearms, or dangerous props will be allowed on the convention floor.


D. Prohibited Items: Real firearms, sharp blades, or any item that could cause harm are strictly prohibited. Props resembling modern firearms must have a non-removable orange tip.

 

E. .Safe Usage: Cosplay weapons must not be brandished or used in an unsafe or threatening manner. Any form of physical combat (e.g., mock fighting) is prohibited unless part of a sanctioned event.


3. Cosplay Is Not Consent
F. Respect is paramount. Always ask for permission before taking photos or interacting with cosplayers.


G. Unwanted touching, harassment, or inappropriate comments towards cosplayers (or anyone) will not be tolerated. If you feel uncomfortable or experience harassment, please report it to convention staff immediately.


H. Remember that cosplaying does not grant anyone the right to invade personal space or boundaries.
